I have just three things to teach:
simplicity, patience, compassion.
These three are your greatest treasures.
Simple in actions and in thoughts,
you return to the source of being.
Patient with both friends and enemies,
you accord with the way things are.
Compassionate toward yourself,
you reconcile all beings in the world.
Verse 67
Tao te Ching

"Compassionate toward yourself." Why is that so difficult, yet certainly how can we know compassion unless we begin with it? And a lovely image accompanies the words. Kuan Yin is nicely placed off center, darkness and shadow define her Her reddish color is carried throughout the composition, nicely balanced. I find the bird somewhat distracting but it certainly draws me back again to Kuan Yin's face. It's a busy composition, but calmed by her curves, color, mass and placement. Thank you for a kind and thoughtful meditation.
What a beautiful image and the verse is so worthy of study and incorporation into our daily lives! thank you so much for sharing.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
