One thousand miles from home, I open the same prayer book.
Some nights it was only obligation; tonight, it is comfort.
"When traveling, we are away from our usual surroundings, including those elements that restrict and suppress us. Nearly all of us have fears, frustrations, and inhibitions that we have acquired in the past. Time and distance help us to assess them more clearly."

I've been on trips that felt like that, and it was very nice to have some comfort of home. The monochromatic palette expresses fatigue well, nothing bright and cheery here. The low buildings are great filler leading to the tall hotels, accented by their dark shadows. That triangle on the right seems almost oppressive in its sameness. The only verticals are the hotels, great contrast. What a fascinating photo accompanied by the text. Travel, it's a mixed bag, isn't it?
My dear uncle, who just died at 84, sent me the 365 Tao book a few years ago. It's a treasure. He had some memory loss, so every time we talked he'd ask me if I knew of the book - it was very sweet.
